For the last 9 years, I have been working in the Internet Marketing/SEO field helping clients get more sales, leads, or traffic from search engines like Google.
When I started Inbound Authority, there was a fundamental shift happening in the industry because the term SEO didn’t cover all the jobs that needed to be done to truly market a great company or product online.
The moniker “Inbound Marketing” began to be used around 2012 to describe the tactics in a marketing campaign that were needed for success. This included website optimization, SEO, PPC, content marketing, email marketing, social media marketing and more. That’s why I chose the name Inbound Authority to describe what I do.
I really enjoy this type of work because each website and client provides a unique challenge. Another thing that makes it fun is how the industry is constantly changing as technology and search engines like Google evolve over time.
In the past, I did all types of SEO and marketing, but in 2016 I got laser-focused on the two types that I enjoy the most; working with Shopify e-commerce websites and helping local businesses improve their search presence online.
One day I hope to be able to just key in on one and truly be “the expert” in that field, but for now, I am still deciding.
One of the things I am most excited about is using the information I have learned over the years to help others by being an instructor and beginning creation of an online training course on the popular Udemy.com platform.
